In the video work Of Fire, Bekirović uses a thermal imaging camera to film how artist Xu XueQin sculpts a dragon from clay. The heat transfer from artist to artwork illuminates different parts of the dragon each time. The images are interspersed with quotes about the symbolic meaning of the dragon in different cultures, eras, and religions. With this work, Bekirović shows how the dragon, a creature found in cultures around the world, says something about how we shape our fears and desires.
