Traces Flea market bought objects are treated with forensic powder and illuminated with UV lamps, revealing the objects’ personal history by showing the smudges and fingerprints that form the objects’ (usually invisible) outer skin.
.………………………………………………………………………………………………………… II Installation (400 x 400 x 190 cm). Bronze replica of Rodin’s Thinker, forensic powder, UV lamps, 2016. After using a postcard depicting Rodin’s Thinker in my work Traces , I came across a life sized replica of said Thinker. it was generously lent to me for use in an exhibition, where it underwent the same treatment as the found objects in Relational Voodoo I. By illuminating only the outermost layer of the object (the grease of fingerprints and other traces), the result was rather ghost-like.
